The Minority Pool, is a compelling documentary that focuses on African Americans and swimming. The documentary highlights some of the social issues surrounding minorities and why they do not know how to swim compared to their white peers. The short film discusses the issues of hair, accessibility, race, segregation and the psychological aspects surrounding African Americans and their “fear of water.”

The film is based around two characters that share a common fear of water. It follows a young lady whose youngest cousin was found dead after drowning at a pool party and a father, who has never learned how to swim, but instills the practice of swimming on his children.
